Labour Courts and Industrial Tribunals in Kolkata cover the jurisdiction of entire West Bengal. All Labour Courts (I and II) and Industrial Tribunals (I, II, III, IV, V, VII and VIII), except two, are located in the city of Kolkata making it convenient for the city based litigants. These Labour Courts and Industrial Tribunals primarily deal with cases of illegal termination of an employee under Section 2A(2) or Section 10(1B)(d) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 along with computation of back wages Under Section 33C(2) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. These Labour Courts and Industrial Tribunals pass award in form of reinstatement and back wages.
